AC drives can be used to control of the rotation speed of electric motors or to help generate power from renewable sources. As a result of controlling the rotational equipment an AC Variable Speed Drive there is great potential for energy saving. Controlling of a pump with a VSD can allow the unit to perform with a much higher efficiency and also only when required.

 

Typically a VSD will be used to maintain a constant flow or pressure within a system. This is managed via control of the motor speed in conjunction with the VSD's programming to monitor the system as it operates. By monitoring the power required by the motor, the VSD can adjust the frequency supplied to increase or decrease the motor speed to maintain a constant system. With our VSD's it is possible to monitor and control the system based on pressure, flow, power, speed, motor torque or Suction conditions
